Operational information, opening of nominations for university awards, internal calls, and invitations to courses and training sessions. In addition to the UP Portal, the students website, and the UP Newsletter, students and all UP employees can now find essential information about the university's internal environment under the new item in the main menu of the Žurnál online: Internal News.
The new page summarises current university-wide personnel and study information, invitations to events reserved for employees and students, and calls for nominations for internal competitions and awards.
"Our aim is not to further fragment the university's information channels, but from long-term monitoring of statistics, we know that some employees and students consider the UP Portal to be the main internal communication channel, while others look for this type of information in the Žurnál, which is also aimed at the wider public, and others in the newsletter or in UPlikace. No important university-wide internal communication should be missing from the new page," said Gabriela Sýkorová Dvorníková, who is responsible for internal communication at Communications Office of the Rector's Office.
Students in particular are very good at keeping up with university news in UPlikace. Internal messages should also be posted there in time. "UPlikace is currently developing more personalized information channels, a kind of bulletin board, down to the level of faculties and individual departments, which will be useful not only for students but also for all university employees," added Sýkorová Dvorníková.
The internal news page also features a more personalized events calendar, which includes courses, training sessions, and events intended exclusively for UP employees and students. "They will no longer be listed in the public UP Calendar of Events on the university's main website, which should primarily feature UP events and activities that are open to the public," explained UP website editor Daniel Agnew.
