March 2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the promulgation of John Paul II's encyclical Evangelium Vitae. On this occasion, an International Conference of Moral Theologians from Central Europe will be held at the CMTF on 21 November 2025, with the participation of experts from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Germany.
“The idea of starting a series of conferences for moral theologians at CMTF has been on my mind for some time. I confess that our canonists inspired me with their Central European Young Canonists Forum, which has been running successfully for several years now. My original idea was to invite all Czech-speaking moral theologians to Olomouc and to meet rather informally on some topic that would be common to all participants. Such a meeting finally took place last summer in a beautiful place near the Sázava Monastery, and from there came the concrete idea to organize an official academic meeting at CMTF this November. The theme that was directly offered to us is the anniversary of the encyclical Evangelium Vitae, which the contributions of all those invited will touch,” said ThLic. Jan Polák, Ph.D.
The conference is intended for the wider academic community and those interested in current issues in moral theology and bioethics. The language of discussion for all speakers and participants will be English. There is no fee for this conference, nor is it necessary to register in advance.
All are cordially invited!
