Internationalization means classrooms with students from all over the world. But not only language, but also classroom behaviour, cultural values, behaviours and expectations vary. That means we as academic educators have to be prepared for the unexpected.
This seminar aims at providing the attendants with ideas how to teach intercultural and multilingual classrooms. This includes how to use effective language, what vocabulary and language works best, as well as technical aids as language support. The course will not provide an outline of intercultural theory, and the aim is not a finished model, but rather a discussion on how to adapt and enable learning for everyone, starting with the participators? own experience.
The course is in English for a simple reason: courses with a big mix of participants are usually so, too. That means participants need to have English on minimal B1 level, though B2 is recommended.
