Current rules for teaching, exams and dormitories at UP
As of 12 April UP has been following slightly modified government guidelines (here in Czech), which are part of the 1st phase of dismantling measures in education. Teaching in the summer semester continues mostly in online form. According to the above-mentioned government resolution, the following restrictions and rules currently are currently in place:
- students are mostly prohibited from physical attendance at classes, this does not apply only to clinical or practical classes and internships for students studying general medicine, dentistry, pharmacy and other healthcare study programmes; nor to students doing their teacher training internships at nursery, primary, and secondary schools nor school facilities for performing institutional and protective education. From 12 April also those subjects which have singing (max. 6 persons in a room) and sport as an integral part of their core can take place in person. You will be informed by your faculty/department as to whether this applies to your study programme.
- students are prohibited from physical attendance at exams with more than 10 persons present at any one time (exams up to 10 persons can be held in the presence, but rector of UP highly recommends and ask faculties and teachers to realize exams online wherever it is possible),
- individual consultations between one teacher and one student are allowed,
- Czech students are prohibited from residing in university dormitories including university facilities if they have another residence within the Czech Republic, with the exception of students who are attending classes mentioned in items 1 and 2. Foreign students can stay at dormitories without regard to their field of study. Details on UP dormitory rules can be found on the UP Accommodation and Dining webpage (in Czech).

Testing of employees and students for covid-19
Mandatory weekly testing of employees for covid-19 is currently taking place at UP on the basis of government regulations. Employees without a negative test cannot work inside UP premises. Antigen testing is mandatory for students of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry and Faculty of Health Sciences, too. Details here.
The UP Central Library at the Zbrojnice/Armoury and all faculty branches still remain closed. Books can be borrowed under the existing special contactless regime.
