The Higher Education Act requires all academic staff at Palacký University to notify the university of any other employment at other designated institutions.

An academic staff member who enters into a new employment contract with UP is required to provide this information within one month of starting employment.  This obligation does not apply to work performed on the basis of so-called agreements on work outside of employment (agreement on work activity and agreement on work performance).

The reporting obligation applies to any type of activity, including scientific, pedagogical, journalistic, literary, or artistic activities.

The obligation applies explicitly to employment relationships only at the following institutions:

  • other Czech higher education institutions
  • providers of foreign higher education in the Czech Republic
  • public research institutions in the Czech Republic (list HERE)
  • other research institutions in the Czech Republic registered in the list of research organizations approved for accepting researchers from third countries (list HERE)

For example, the University Hospital Olomouc is not one of the listed types of institutions, so there is no need to report the employment relationship.

After the termination of such additional employment outside UP, the same reporting obligation applies. The deadline for reporting changes is one month.

The information entered will not be publicly visible; only the registered employee will display the personal data. In aggregate form, the Dean of the Faculty has the authority to request this data.

This reporting obligation does not apply to scientific or other staff.

special online form, Employments outside of UP, has been added to the UP Portal for reporting other employment contracts. You can find it in the My Profile section (by clicking on the tile or the menu in the upper right corner):
